DD2.0 DESCRIPTION

The original Diamond Drive was a groundbreaking longboard that combined performance and versatility. It featured a narrower tail and a wider nose, which provided excellent stability and control. This design made it a favorite among surfers for its ability to handle a variety of wave conditions, from small, weak waves to larger, more powerful ones. The board's three-stage rocker and balanced plan shape allowed for smooth transitions and easy maneuverability, making it a reliable choice for surfers of all levels.

What's New with the Diamond Drive 2.0?

So, what sets the Diamond Drive 2.0 apart from its predecessor? According to Harley, the main difference lies in the board's balanced shape. The wider tail and slightly wider point in the pod provide more support for nose riding and stability in weaker waves. This new design also straightens up the plan shape, making it more parallel and comfortable to ride.

Harley kept the bottom part and the curve (rocker) the same because, why mess with something if it's already great, right? But they did add a neat little feature at the nose (the front part of the board) called a slight teardrop nose concave. This fancy term just means there's a slight dip at the front that helps you control your speed better when you're riding the waves.

DIAMOND DRIVE 2.0 FAQS

The main differences in the Diamond Drive 2.0 are:

  1. Balanced plan shape: The wide point has been moved back slightly, making the tail wider and the nose narrower.
  2. Slight teardrop nose concave: This new feature helps with speed control while noseriding.
  3. More parallel outline: The updated shape makes walking, trimming, and paddling more comfortable.

The Diamond Drive 2.0 is designed to be versatile, performing well in various conditions:

  • It thrives in waist-high to well overhead point break waves.
  • The board performs well in small, weak waves and larger, more powerful waves.
  • It's suitable for conditions ranging from waist-high to double overhead faces.

While the Diamond Drive 2.0 can be ridden by surfers of all levels, it's primarily designed for intermediate and above surfers looking for a board that supports varied performance surfing. However, its ease of use makes it a great choice for weekend warriors and everyday surfers as well

Harley Ingleby recommends the following fin setups:

  • For everyday surfing: FCS Harley XL tri set.
  • For larger waves or more speed: FCS Harley XL quad set.
  • Harley also mentions experimenting with a single fin for waist-high or smaller waves

The Diamond Drive 2.0 is designed to enhance noseriding capabilities:

  • The wider tail and balanced shape make it easier to stay on the nose, even in weaker waves.
  • The light teardrop nose concave helps lock the board in place when on the nose and provides better speed control.
