Maps to Nowhere - Are there any perfect waves left in the world with no one around?

Maps to Nowhere

One of the best parts of owning a surf shop is all of the people we get to meet and work with over the years. Whether they are employees, product reps, customers, or pro athletes, everyone always as an interesting story to tell and unique perspective on the surfing lifestyle.

One member of our team here at Hawaiian South Shore has spent most of his life traveling the world in search of new waves. Although he is based on Oahu, Matt Rode works for us remotely, writing a lot of our online content from the road. That’s because he’s hardly ever here! Every time I talk to him, he is in some obscure corner of the planet, searching for waves or scoring an all-time swell at a spot that he sniffed out years ago.

EPISODE 2:

Over the past year, Matt has been leading a film project for Surfline and O’neill called Maps to Nowhere—traveling to a handful of fickle, remote waves with a bunch of filmers and getting barreled with some of O’neill’s top team riders. After 15 months of hard work, the series is finally ready to launch in mid-March, with the first episode releasing on Surfline on March 15. The trailer came out today and has us super excited. Check it out here and make sure you tune in for all four episodes, starting a little over a week from now!
